This district is home to lots of entertainment venues, but if you're looking for shops and restaurants, you'll find plenty of casual options. Choose from chains like Shake Shack, Outback Steakhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings and more — or try Wheelhouse Market for local favorites, like Old Town Tacos. There are also plenty of gift shops for souvenir hunting.
Grab a cookie (or four!) at Gideon's Bakehouse.
If you haven't tried a cookie from Gideon's, you don't know what you're missing. They're handmade in small batches, and, as a result, they're giant, soft and rich in flavor. The bakery's cake slices and flavored cold brew drinks are also big hits. You can pick them up at two locations: the original in East End Market and a newer one in Disney Springs. Though it's worth the wait in the potentially long lines to try them, you can place an advance order for pick-up exclusively at the East End Market location.
Dine and play at the world's largest McDonald's
You might not consider McDonald's a unique place to visit during your travels, but this one is like no other. Located near the major theme parks, this giant spot — known as "Epic McD" — offers its regular menu along with rare gourmet options, like sandwiches, pastas, pizza and more. And it's not just for eating: There's also a massive arcade with over 100 games and a giant PlayPlace for climbing and sliding. Not to mention, it's open 24/7, 365 days a year.

For a night out that's geared more towards grown-ups, this dining district offers popular restaurants with a range of cuisines for every taste. Most venues offer a happy hour in the early evenings, plus there are various forms of entertainment, like a comedy club and movie theater. If you're in town for a conference, it's located right across the street from the Orange County Convention Center.
Unwind at Universal CityWalk.
This massive entertainment center is located right in front of the entrances to the Universal theme parks, so you don't need to pay admission to enter. It's best known for its dining and nightlife; in fact, its restaurants and bars are popular for locals, not just those visiting the resort.
