First I want to start out with some uniquely Orlando things for adults to do. These are quintessential Florida experiences that every adult should try at least once! Start with these ten ideas when looking for a fun, adult-friendly Orlando activity.
1. Plan a Downtown Orlando Brewery Crawl
There are so many amazing Orlando breweries, that I recommend beer lovers spend some time downtown and try a few. You can quickly get from Persimmon Hollow to Motorworks to Broken Strings and order a flight at each! If you don’t want to have a designated driver, go on Saturdays and take the Orlando Ale Line Brew Bus!

3. Swim in a Freshwater Spring
The freshwater springs of Central Florida are a sight not to be missed! If you want to spend some time in nature, it is worth it to take a drive to the springs. There you can explore, kayak, or swim with your friends and family. Here are the best springs near Orlando for adults:

4. Spend a Day at the Central Florida Zoo
Seeing animals of all types is the most fun thing to do in Orlando! The Central Florida Zoo is home to giraffes, bears, sloths, crocodiles, and more, which can be viewed at any time of day. Along with learning about the different animal species, there are also exhibits about the animal’s natural habitats. This zoo offers tons of unique experiences for adults, as well as a botanical garden to explore.
5. Take a Hot Air Balloon Ride
See Orlando from above with a hot air balloon flight! Disney Springs offers fifteen-minute experiences for only $25 per person and you can see Walt Disney World Resort from above. If you really want to splurge, you can also book a private hot air balloon tour over Orlando for $425 for a couple!
6. Go Backstage on a Theme Park Tour
All the Orlando theme parks offer backstage tours that provide a unique perspective instead of riding rides. Some of my favorites include the Keys to the Kingdom or the Wild Africa Trek Tour at Disney World and the Penguin Up-Close Tour at SeaWorld. They are an additional cost after park admission, but if you have an annual pass it can be a unique Orlando experience for adults!
7. Taste Your Way Through the Chocolate Museum
If you have a sweet tooth, visit The Chocolate Museum & Café for a decadent birthday. You can start with a tour to learn about the origins and history of chocolate, followed by seeing how chocolate is made and some remarkable sculptures made out of chocolate. Of course, the tour ends with samples of all different kinds and a chance to purchase more in the café! Bring a few friends on the tour to celebrate or book a private tour for a chocolate party!
8. Play Some Games at the 1-Up Barcade
For adults that want to relive the 80s, the 1-Up Arcade bar offers all your favorite arcade games to enjoy in a bar setting. Another delicious experience for adults in Orlando is going to Plant Street Market. This is an indoor food hall (though lots of seating is outside), where you can try all sorts of cuisines. I love ordering a dish from multiple booths to have my own unique meal. You can also get craft beer from one of Orlando’s best breweries, Crooked Can here, and find live music on weekends.

One of my favorite things to do in Orlando any day is race go-karts at Andretti! This is one of the best go-karting courses in Florida and you can race around the track as many times as you like.
In addition to go-karts, Andretti also has all sorts of stuff to do inside including laser tag, arcade games, and an obstacle course that will keep you busy on a rainy day. They even offer parties for adults that can include unlimited arcade play and refreshments.
13. Try a Watersport

With four different theme parks, Walt Disney World has so many unique things for adults to do. Magic Kingdom is the classic option, especially for those who love princesses or movies. Spend the day here riding the rides and finish off with fireworks and ice cream in front of Cinderella’s Castle.

They also have an aquarium and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum for an indoor experience.

Know Before You Go: The Best Things to Do in Orlando for Adults
Though some may be surprised, Orlando offers plenty of fun things to do for adults. From art and culture to food and wine, there’s something for everyone in this vibrant city. Before choosing one of these things to do in Orlando for adults, be sure to keep these tips in mind!
- Keep an eye on the weather when planning an activity in Orlando. Florida weather can change quickly, especially in the summer with storms popping up. It also is much hotter here than on the coast, so do not plan to be outside all day in the summer.
- If you are looking to visit any of the theme parks, make sure to look for Florida Resident deals! Kelly, this blog’s trusted travel agent, can help you find the best rates!
- You will have to pay for parking in the city and near tourist locations. Pretty much most places in Downtown Orlando and on I-Drive have a small parking cost. If you are concerned, look it up ahead of time or take an Uber.
- Avoid I-4 during rush hour as much as possible. This is where there is the worst traffic! Traffic in the city is bad all around between 4 PM to 7 PM most days though.
- If you are looking for a place to grab a meal after experiencing one of these attractions, check out my complete Orlando restaurant guide.
