How To Cook Ground Beef in the Instant Pot

It really is simple to cook up ground beef using your pressure cooker. You can choose from the following two methods:

Using the Sauté mode:

1. Place the meat in the bottom of the Instant Pot insert. If you are using lean ground beef, you may want to spray the bottom of the insert with a bit of cooking spray or oil first.
2. Set the InstantPot to sauté mode.
3. Cook the ground beef for 5-6 minutes per pound, stirring regularly, as if you were using a skillet.

Using the Pressure Cooker method:

1. Add 1 cup of water and 1 pound of ground beef to the bottom of the Instant Pot insert.
2. Place the lid on your Instant Pot, lock, and turn the valve to the sealing position.
3. Set to manual pressure, high pressure, for 5 minutes.
4. When cook time is complete, perform a quick pressure release.

Food Safety Tip –> it is important to always check your ground beef for doneness using a meat thermometer. Ground beef is considered done and safe to eat when the internal temperature reachesat least 160 F / 71 C.
